Understanding Forensic Astrology
Finding the key components in an astrological “event” chart to assist in profiling a criminal (or determining important information about a crime) is known as Forensic Astrology.
It takes practice.
If you’re willing to put in the time and the brain power and feel that analysis is your cup of tea, you’ve come to the right place. Taking notes, comparing charts, and discussing details about criminals, crime scenes or the crime itself will become second-nature… and all of the above is important in evolving as a criminal astrologer.
First things first, know how to pull the right information. You’ll need to find the last seen time or (my preference) a time stamp, and input it into an online “birth chart” calculator like astro.com or astro-seek. Since I look at the degrees of each planets in each chart, I find that the astro-seek calculator works best for me and it’s easier to read.
Second, you’ll start to easily identify the Rising Sign/also known as the Ascendant (ASC) and the Descendant (DSC) in the 1st House (H1) and the 7th House (H7). You will be working with them the most (and often first) with a criminal event chart.
Third, you’ll want to look at the houses of the chart where the ASC and DSC lines are found and in which “sign” they are placed. You’ll need to know which planets RULE the houses of 2 planets: 1 for the ASC and 1 for the DSC. You will learn that suspect will have more/less power in a crime if a planet ruling the suspect is in it’s rulership (strong) or detriment (weak).
Fourth, you’ll look for the planets that are placed in those houses (1 and 7).
Fifth, you’ll want to see where the planets ruling the ASC and DSC houses live.
Getting to know each house of a chart and it’s “personality” is crucial to reading an event chart. For instance if Virgo is in the 12th house of an event chart (signifying “loss”) and the ruling planet of Virgo (Mercury) is in the second house, signifying money, it’s possible that one of the motivations of the crime involved debt. Similarly, the 8th house rules taxes (aside from death, sex, investigation and real estate). If it’s ruler is in the second, it’s likely this person may have to pay a lot of taxes, another possible motive.
When you first start out, there are so many different combinations that it may discourage you. But as you practice, you’ll start to remember charts that you’ve read and be able to make similarities and identify possibilities in the most specific ways. You will astound your counterparts and friends when you can draw an event chart on a missing person and days before anyone else, will have predicted many of the details that were a mystery to investigators and the press.
