It was just another weekend at the University of Idaho in November 2022. College kids canvassed the campus on a chilly Saturday night to meet up and blow off steam after a long week – including best friends Maddie Mogan and Kaylee Goncalves. Kaylee was joining Maddie for drinks and to stay over at her former house on King Street that evening and would later meet up with housemate Xana Kernodle and her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, who attended a nearby fraternity party.  Kaylee had recently moved out in anticipation of working for a Texas firm –  her first job out of college. But did she move out early because she was scared of a stalker? That night Maddie and Kaylee would sleep in the same bed since Kaylee had moved out her furniture and belongings in the previous month. The Fall semester,  Xana would ask her dad to come by and install a lock on her bedroom door. Did Kaylee move out of the house because she was scared of a stalker that she had told friends about? Did she want to keep everyone safe and leave the premises but decided to return one last time after Maddie told her that is wasn’t the same without her living there?  Four housemates were killed that evening: Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan. Bryan Kohberger, the accused perpetrator, from nearby Pullman, WA, is currently awaiting his murder trial.

1. Ascendant degree is at 22° “kill or be killed” degree. Venus is the planet symbol for the victims; Libra reflects “beauty” and “relationship(s)” – the sign representing the victims – and would speak to a couple (Xana and Ethan) who were killed.  

2. The location of Venus will represent the characteristics of the victims during this time. Venus is conjunct the “twin” planet showing that there are profile characteristics of people who look alike or who have an actual twin (Ethan Chapin was a triplet with a “twin” brother). Curiously, the victims are in the 2nd house of money, food, possessions.  This might offer a clue regarding stolen goods (Mercury in Scorpio is often a thief in crime charts), or a perp believes something was stolen from him. He is there to take something back, in his mind, along with taking revenge (Scorpio).

3. At the time of the murders, the suspect or the motive was unknown to law enforcement and the public. Initially, it could be determined that the perp was angry. The descendant in Aries is a sign that would point to anger. It would also show there would be some kind of military theme; a military sheath from a US Marine Corp KA-BAR knife was found on the victims.  Bryan Kohberger’s photos showing him as a young ROTC student would emerge and that he would later change career course to criminal psychology.

4. Identifying the Lord of the sign of Aries would clues: 

• • Mars, the lord of Aries is in the 9th house of long distances, teaching/student, a university/college.
  • Mars represents a man.
  • Mars is placed in the sign of Gemini, the twin sign, showing it was a twin college from whence the suspect came.
  • Gemini, showing “two” can also indicate there was more than one man (Gemini “group”) and/or that the man was in his car (Gemini: to drive/travel) or that there were two cars (Mars: Car/Gemini “2”).
  • Mars/Aries often shows a car since it represents metal. Mercury/Gemini is recognized as a car by astrologers but can mean driving or a driver. Here, the driver (Gemini) was angry (Mars).Mars in retrograde represents the killer himself and the police. Retrograde shows detriment and that mistakes were made by both in this crime.

5. The 8th house or Scorpio house can show other characteristics of a killer. The cusp of each house is very important in charts and screams “look here!” The 8th house cusp is within a few degrees of Algol, the point of obsessions and losing one’s head and known as The Devil Star. The Vertex, or “the point of the matter,” is at the Scorpio degree of 20 in Taurus. This could represent Scorpio qualities: revenge, obsession, and Taurus characteristics: money or food – perhaps a reference to where Maddy and Kaylee worked and where the killer may have seen them.

6. The elevated planet or point is very important in a crime chart. Elevated planets, or planets at the highest point of the chart, indicate an important clue in the crime.

7. Pluto is one of the strongest clues in the chart. It represents the motive here due to the opposition from an elevated planet – “The Downfall.” Pluto represents revenge, obsession and/or jealousy.

8. The Kite in this chart (pointing down) shows a failure.  Pluto shown “bringing down” the kite.  The sign of jealousy and obsession, if not research – referencing the alleged killer’s interest in research projects.

9. Saturn at the evil degree of 18 sits in the house conjunct the Part of Fortune – the effort was successful. Saturn square Uranus shows the blocking of the phone signal and Saturn trining Mars in Gemini shows the ability to get back to the origin or the ability to carry out the murders after driving from a “Twin” (Gemini) college (9th House).
