Why was Die Hard added to the “Historical Events” page? Why are we even bothering?
Because it’s good practice.
You can use a timestamp to find out information about anything, not just a crime. Here is an analysis of a movie about a crime (specifically the timestamp of the movie’s opening time).
In this case, a group of terrorists crash a holiday party and a police hero saves the day. Many times when you see the symbol Part of Fortune (POF), it shows which “party” will be successful at the end of the day. For John McClane, it was a long day, and started with the completion of a long flight (Uranus “airport” + Saturn (long/delayed) as the movie begins. (r) astro-seek chart
Look to Neptune when you want to find out who is faking or lying (let’s face it they all were lying about something) – but the planet (Moon) ruling The Terrorist is faking (Neptune) something. What is he faking? That he’s a famous terrorist (Moon/Pluto – very famous).
Let’s not forget that the movie itself became very famous. If you are opening a movie, wait till Moon is within a few degrees of Pluto or Jupiter and you’re bound to have a big hit.
As far as what McClane was faking? His Name! (Roy, after a famous cowboy) (Ascendant: Name – aspecting Pluto/Moon: famous)
John McClane was visiting his wife Holly (Venus is “wife” in a male’s chart) in Los Angeles to meet her at her office Christmas party, located in the Nakatomi Plaza (5th “plaza”). There is a group of women (Gemini “group”), some of them are beautiful (19°, the Libra degree “beautiful.”). Holly is a real estate agent (Venus aspecting Scorpio/MC “real estate career”) for the Nakatomi Corporation. She is Italian (Gemini). The 5th house is a holiday.
On Christmas Eve 1988 Holly celebrated closing the largest deal in Nakatomi’s history.
This exercise reveals how one planet can indicate several things (i.e. Aries is German, representing the terrorists but it also represents several police officers. Our attention is drawn to the house where John is – and that’s the12th house (12th: locked up or “stuck”). This shows a person, or in this case people, being held hostage. The Ascendant Lord (in this chart, Saturn) always represents the victim: it’s likely that John has been taken hostage with other people or stuck somewhere.
The stellium in the 12th indicates a lot of different information because the planets combine to show many things. Above all, a hostage is hiding (Neptune).
In any crime chart, it’s confusing to navigate the aspects (a trine vs a square). A trine of malefics might be bad, a square of malefics might save the day – but the combinations seem endless. Mars is having a problem in this chart. Saturn (McClane) is squaring Mars. Throughout the movie, McClane tries to get help from the police, but is unsuccessful – they give him attitude when he tries to ask for help and the LAPD officers called to the scene later are hostile to him. He has to get their attention (Uranus “to shock”) when he throws a body (Saturn “body”) on one of their cruisers from above (Saturn conjunct Uranus square Mars at 3° – Gemini degree, a “police car”).
McClane might be hiding in an elevator shaft (Uranus, “elevator”) or around the elevator. He is way “up high” (Uranus “up high”) on the roof of the building. The building (Saturn, “buildings”) exterior itself is split into two (Uranus, “to split”) which gives us a description of where the victim is. John McClane (Saturn) is divorced or separated (Uranus “to divorce” or break up). You are essentially using the combination of planets or the energy of one or more planets to build a profile.
You might recall that McClane befriended Sgt. Al Powell, helping him from outside, secretly. You can see a trine (Saturn to Part of Fortune) to the 3rd house/Aries. He’s communicating to a friend (3rd) who can help. The friend is eating (POF is at 26°, the Taurus degree, “to eat”). Sgt. Powell is unaware of McClane’s true identity because Mclane is not divulging his name and stays disguised (Saturn, “John” + Neptune, “disguise”)
Any time you have the perpetrator’s planet aspecting the ascendant or a planet in the 7th aspecting the ascendant, it’s an indication of the perp’s name. The ascendant not only represents the victim but means a “name” of either the victim, the suspect, a co-conspirator or a witness. Remember Hans, the Nakatomi terrorist, pretending he was Bill Clay? Rock is usually represented by Capricorn. We might at first think his name is Stone or a name with “rock” like Rockwell. Neptune is close to the Ascendant, so you combine Neptune and Saturn (the ruling planet of Cap). The chart below shows the simple chart PLUS minor aspects so it looks complicated.
